The squad for Córdoba Club de Fútbol's 2026-27 campaign is beginning to take shape. Following the confirmation of Diego Bri, Albarrán has now secured his place. The player automatically renewed his contract for an additional season, thanks to a clause requiring him to play 25 official matches, with at least 45 minutes in each.
“"It's about games. I am very happy in Córdoba and eager to continue."
Last Saturday, in the match against Real Zaragoza, Albarrán reached his 25th game of the season, triggering the aforementioned clause. This renewal is crucial for coach Iván Ania, who considers the full-back a reliable utility player and one of his trusted men, as well as one of the team's captains.
Throughout the season, Albarrán has demonstrated remarkable versatility, playing as a full-back on both wings and even as an emergency center-back, covering constant absences in the defense. Despite a personally challenging start to the season, the player managed to recover and regain an undisputed starting position, surpassing 2,000 minutes of play and 100 official matches in the blanquiverde jersey.
Albarrán's commitment to the city of Córdoba has been further strengthened recently with the birth of his second child, Luca Albarrán, who is now a native of Córdoba, thus solidifying the player's personal connection with the club and its fans.
Furthermore, the right flank of Córdoba CF also celebrates Christian Carracedo's milestone, who reached 150 matches as a blanquiverde in the same game against Real Zaragoza. Carracedo, Albarrán's inseparable partner, marked this occasion with a crucial assist that contributed to the winning goal, now totaling 11 assists this season in LaLiga Hypermotion and establishing himself as a key offensive asset for Iván Ania's team.
