The Provincial Council of Córdoba has approved the alienation process for two plots of land it owns on General Castaños street, in Cerro Muriano, within the municipality of Córdoba. The primary goal is to foster the development of protected housing and thereby facilitate citizens' access to homes.
The president of the provincial institution, Salvador Fuentes, explained that the tender for these plots, whose valuation will be updated before the sale, could be launched in the final quarter of the year. Currently, these sites are valued at approximately 1.35 million euros and have the capacity for around 55 protected homes.
Fuentes highlighted that the bidding process will not solely consider the economic offer but will also incorporate social, economic, and quality criteria for the future homes. Interested companies will be required to submit a preliminary project for evaluation.
This initiative is part of the Provincial Council of Córdoba's strategy to provide public land, promoting construction models that balance public interest with quality and the creation of housing access opportunities, particularly for young people and families.
The president emphasized that housing access is a key challenge for public administrations, and the Council aims to contribute actively by making provincial assets available. This action aligns with the institution's plan to build 46 protected homes for affordable rent across 11 municipalities in the province, with a budget of 5.5 million euros.
