The president of the Provincial Council of Córdoba, Salvador Fuentes, detailed the characteristics of this plan, which represents an increase in available credit between 2023 and 2026 by 26.4%, rising from 16.3 to 20.6 million euros. Fuentes highlighted that this increase in investment spending, which has changed the trend of previous years, aims to strengthen and guarantee municipal public services.
A significant portion of the funding will be allocated to repairing infrastructure affected by the winter storms. Projects included in the plan must be executed within an 18-month period, from January 2026 to June 30, 2027. The plan will be presented to the Plenary next Wednesday, published on July 23 in the BOP, with a five-day period for objections, aiming to sign specific agreements with the municipalities on July 31.
The plan is structured into five main areas of action. The first, focused on basic public services, has €8,056,013.98 for 275 projects, including urban planning, public works, sewerage, water, waste management, lighting, cemeteries, environment, and security and mobility.
The second area, focused on social protection and promotion, allocates €910,178.02 to 31 projects. The third area, for preferred public assets, dedicates €7,690,257.55 to 319 projects in areas such as sports, heritage, culture, and education.
The fourth area, related to economic actions, includes 79 projects with an investment of €2,068,189.23, aimed at tourism promotion, repair of municipal roads, business development, and commerce or fairs.
Finally, the fifth area covers general actions, with 90 projects and a budgetary contribution of €1,871,002.02, for actions affecting the municipal sphere.
Salvador Fuentes emphasized that this plan aims to change the reality of the municipalities, improve citizens' lives, and reduce territorial inequalities, fostering joint work and collaboration with the mayors of the province.
