The project, which involved a total investment of 175,925.61 euros, is part of the 2024-2027 Village Plan. This initiative aims to provide scattered population centers with quality infrastructure to ensure equal opportunities and curb depopulation in the region.
The main intervention involved the renewal of public lighting, with a budget of 120,000 euros. Luminaires were replaced with LED technology in key areas such as the North, East, West, and South ring roads, as well as Mayor, Segunda, and Escuelas streets, San Miguel Square, and Calonge Park. This upgrade complies with Energy Efficiency Regulations, significantly reducing electricity consumption.
Additionally, 45,925.61 euros were allocated to improve access to the Calonge Bajo Road. This route, essential for traffic to agricultural holdings, had deteriorated due to heavy vehicle traffic, heavy rainfall, and the silting of the Madre Fuentes stream, issues that have been addressed with these works.
