The president of the Provincial Council of Córdoba, Salvador Fuentes, traveled to Montalbán to sign a collaboration agreement with the mayor, Miguel Ruz, and the delegate for Infrastructure, Sustainability, and Agriculture, Andrés Lorite. The agreement regulates the economic compensation that Epremasa will pay to the City Council for hosting the Environmental Complex within its municipal area.
As stated by Fuentes, during the year 2026, the Provincial Company for Waste and Environment will pay a total of €303,545.61 to this municipality. This amount serves as compensation for waste collection and treatment, as well as for the management of the recycling point.
The president of the Provincial Council explained that this compensation is based on the principle of provincial solidarity and aims to counteract the potential inconveniences and impacts generated by the location of Epremasa's Environmental Complex in Montalbán.
The agreement also stipulates that the provincial company will continue to provide the recycling point management service in Montalbán, as well as waste collection and treatment, as highlighted by Fuentes.
Furthermore, the City Council commits to allocating these financial resources to environmental, sustainability, social, or community-based projects, as outlined in the agreement.
Fuentes added that the amount could be increased if costs for managing construction and demolition waste or toxic and hazardous domestic waste are incorporated.
