The project aims for fourteen women from the creative field, spanning different disciplines, origins, and generations, to work on their artistic projects while living together, exchanging experiences, and receiving training.
Auxiliadora Moreno, head of Equality at the provincial institution, participated in the opening event to convey the provincial institution's support. She highlighted the success of the previous edition and reaffirmed the backing for this initiative, describing it as a cultural proposal with its own identity that goes far beyond an artistic stay; it is a space to advance work, the creative process, and generate lasting bonds between creators and with the territory.
Moreno indicated that the third edition of ‘Arte Viva’ will feature plastic arts, literature, music, theater, dance, sculpture, design, and multidisciplinary creation, once again transforming the Municipal Hostel of Los Blázquez into a creative space.
The group of participants includes emerging profiles and creators with consolidated careers. It features artists born in or residing in the province of Córdoba, along with two creators from other territories. This generational, geographical, and disciplinary diversity is a key aspect of ‘Arte Viva’, seeking to foster the creative process through the coexistence of different experiences.
During the residency, participants will combine individual creation time with training, personalized mentoring, exchange forums, and collective dynamics. The objective is to generate conditions that are difficult to find in daily life: more time to create, professional support, contact with other disciplines, and a network of women artists with whom to share processes, doubts, tools, and experiences.
The residency will culminate in a public exhibition on September 1st, where the 14 participants will showcase the works and projects developed during their stay in Los Blázquez. The residency will conclude on September 2nd.
‘Arte Viva, Mujeres en Acción’ is an initiative of the Equality Delegation of the Diputación, produced by Imprevisible Films in collaboration with the City Council of Los Blázquez.
