The Córdoba Provincial Council has launched a new edition of the cultural program ‘Tierra de Mujeres’ (Land of Women), coinciding with International Day of Rural Women, to highlight and value the role of women in rural areas through 65 artistic performances and workshops distributed across 65 municipalities in the province.

The delegate for Equality, Auxiliadora Moreno, explained that the program includes theater for all audiences, music, and workshops, with equality as the common thread. The 65 performances cover various disciplines such as performing arts, children's theater, street theater, and music.
Moreno emphasized the significant role of women in the prosperity and social inclusion of rural areas, and called for measures to facilitate their labor market integration, create new opportunities, and promote their participation in decision-making. She recalled that in Andalusia, 98% of the territory consists of rural municipalities where 60% of the population resides, with around 1.850.000 women (49.8% of the rural population) still facing challenges such as aging, masculinization, and female rural exodus.
The performing arts program includes works such as 3 de 40 by the company A Rajatabla Teatro, Café o Gintonic by Producciones Abrazadas-Territorio Violeta, Confesiones by Imperfekta Teatro, and El ojo de Bululú by the company Diferentes pero Iguales, which addresses gender inequality and violence.
Other participating companies include Art Teatro with El buen marido-Ostrogodia, El Patio de las Pinzas with La empoderada que no es poco, El Perro Andalook with Historia de un amor, Calema Producciones with La Celestina, Arteyo Producciones with Llévame a Benidorm, Teatro La Paca with Lorca perdida, María Hames with Sobre la cuerda floja, and Tris Tras Farándula with Una mujer contra el viento.
For children, highlights include Mago Ouk with Iguales, la leyenda, Niumpaloal Arte with Morgana, la bruja de la igualdad, a theatrical adaptation of Petronila by El Perro Andalook, and Philippe Le magnifique by Jesús Tiracuentos.
In the musical sphere, performances will include Alhamía by Matilde Cabello, Canción española. Homenaje a la mujer rural by Laura María Larrea, and Cruce de caminos by Teresa Jiménez. Yolanda Mozos and her company will pay homage to women in flamenco tradition, and El sonido que trae LALOLA will present Lalola y las de atrás. Pepi Mantas will offer Mujer en verso, an intimate performance of poetry, music, and theater.
Street performances include Dial-a-story and Invisible y todas las demás. As a novelty, six workshop groups have been designed to reach 58 municipalities, led by professionals specializing in physical and emotional well-being and health, conducted by Marta Modrego, Jorge Santos, Pura Mayorgas, Isis Costa, Margarita Merino, and Eva M. Vega Pavón.
All activities will take place during the last quarter of the year. The full program can be consulted on the website www.dipucordoba.es/igualdad.
