The Provincial Council of Córdoba is promoting the 5th Edition of SonRaiz, under the slogan ‘Culture of Origin’, which will take place in Carcabuey from September 18 to 20, consolidating itself as a cultural proposal championing music, art, and avant-garde, with women artists and creators as main protagonists.

The festival is defined as a proposal where rural ‘artivism’, equality, sustainability, and the valorization of the cultural and natural heritage of the Sierras Subbéticas take center stage. Auxiliadora Moreno, the provincial institution's delegate for Equality, has highlighted it as an innovative cultural initiative merging contemporary roots music with synergies from various fields, making the event a benchmark cultural gathering.
For safety reasons related to fires, the ‘Monte’ stage, previously located near Monte Calvario, has been moved to the Municipal Park Stage in Carcabuey. The event maintains its limited capacity format and its model based on respect for the natural and heritage landscape.
One of the main objectives of SonRaiz 2026 is to promote the sustainable development of the area by fostering gender equality in music, gastronomy, and rural businesses. The festival serves as a platform to showcase projects led by women and encourages the public to explore the territory, its flavors, and its cultural initiatives.
Lucía Sánchez, deputy mayor of the Carcabuey City Council, noted that the festival is “100% female,” featuring artists who rejuvenate folklore from around the world, contributing to its growth as a cultural and musical reference.
José Luis Reyes, project manager for SonRaiz, detailed that the program includes three days of music, workshops, participatory activities, gastronomy, art, nature, crafts, and rural traditions linked to the Subbética region, with a diverse and internationally projected lineup.
The opening day, Friday, September 18, will feature performances by Tära (her only Spanish performance this year), Vinila Von Bismark with her new show ‘La última sultana’, and Queralt Lahoz alongside Dalila and Cristina Len, characterized by fusion and sonic diversity.
On Saturday, September 19, the Castillo Stage will host Blanca Paloma, Teresa Jiménez, Jihan and Lewa. At the Parque Stage, international reference La Argentina La Yegros (her only concert in Andalusia this year) will perform, along with Isla Kume, Terrae, Morgana Souljah, and Carmen Xía y Las Hijas dela Cumbia at the Plaza Stage.
On Saturday, the Plaza Stage will also host the ‘Fashion Swap’ activity, coordinated by local artist Virginia Filardi, alongside ‘AfroBodyGroove – dance and movement workshop’ and ‘La Zona Maracuyeah’, offering gastronomic and cocktail proposals inspired by the tropical coast. The museum will feature a roundtable discussion titled ‘Rural Women, Old Trades with New Perspectives’, along with workshops and the performance “Invisibles” by Colectivo Algazara and Almas de Cántaro.
