Science was experienced interactively at the latest edition of the Ingenuity Fair, held in Córdoba for the European Researchers' Night. The International Agri-food Campus of Excellence ceiA3 participated with a proposal designed to bring agri-food research closer to children, turning scientific outreach into a participatory experience.
The star activity was 'Science Reporters', where children received accreditations and maps to locate the 21 research groups from ceiA3 present. Their challenge was to discover the research they conducted and the practices they presented at their stands.
After visiting the stands, the young reporters answered questions about the research group, its theme, and the experiment or activity presented. Many shared their impressions of what they learned and what they enjoyed most about the fair, before recounting it on camera, becoming protagonists of scientific dissemination.
Additionally, ceiA3 offered a booklet of activities on bioeconomy, introducing concepts such as resource utilization, circular economy, and the valorization of agri-food waste through games. These activities were linked to projects like REGEN4ANDALUCIA, ATTRACTISS, GreenSTEM, and dynADVICE.
The aim of these initiatives is to spark the curiosity of new generations for science, demonstrating that explaining it involves observing, asking, understanding, and knowing how to convey acquired knowledge.
