The initiative, promoted by the European Commission, seeks to encourage incorporating movement into daily life for all ages and fitness levels. The UPO's Vice-Rector for Healthy Campus and Sport, Antonio Fernández Martínez, along with África Calvo Lluch, Director General of Sport, presented the university's designed program.
Activities will commence on Wednesday, September 23rd, with the UPO Tower Climb, followed by a welcome for high-level and performance athletes and the presentation of the ‘UPO Sport Talent’ program. On Thursday, September 24th, yoga and ultimate frisbee sessions will be offered at various campus locations. The Tower Climb will be repeated on Friday, September 25th, and after the weekend, Monday, September 28th, will feature a climbing day.
On Tuesday, September 29th, the ‘X tu salud, Muévete’ (For your health, Move) program will be presented with a sports masterclass and an aikido session. The week will conclude on Wednesday, September 30th, with the Visibility Program on Equality in Sport, organized by the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) and the Olympic Studies and Research Center of the University (CEIO_Olavide).
Participation in most activities requires prior registration until September 20th, with the aikido session being the only exception.
Everyone has their own way of staying active.
The European Week of Sport, established in 2015, aims to combat physical inactivity and highlight that each individual can find their own way to stay active. In 2025, the initiative brought together over 15.1 million people across Europe. The UPO, by participating, promotes sport, well-being, equality, and university coexistence on its campus.
