The initiative, titled “Put yourself in my place,” was attended by the mayor, Juan Franco; the deputy mayor for Health and Social Affairs, Zuleica Molina; the councilwoman for Urban Mobility, Raquel Ñeco, and the president of Fegadi, Francisco Márquez. The main objective was to raise awareness about the challenges faced by people with reduced mobility and municipal actions in this area.
Both the mayor and the councilwoman for Mobility emphasized the importance of creating a more accessible city. The mayor recalled the City Council's work in this regard and announced a new accessibility commission to evaluate future projects. For his part, Francisco Márquez thanked them for their collaboration and highlighted the significance of European Mobility Week in making visible the challenges of people with reduced mobility, advocating for universal accessibility and projects such as street pedestrianization and adapted transport.
Zuleica Molina mentioned the inclusion of mobility proposals in the Local Health Plan, also aimed at people with cognitive problems. She highlighted the urban transformation the city is undergoing and the need for cross-departmental work among municipal delegations to improve coexistence.
