The City Council of Seville, through its Tourism and Culture Department, has announced the cultural program taking place in the city from September 3rd to 9th. The delegate for Tourism and Culture, Angie Moreno, emphasized the richness and diversity of the offerings, ranging from popular traditions to new expressions of flamenco.
One of the new additions is 'Soñó Sevilla bajo las estrellas', by the Sevillian company Giraldillo de Comedias, directed by Rocío Rodríguez. This Andalusian folk theatre production is staged at the Parque de María Luisa, near the Museum of Arts and Popular Customs, a building designed by Aníbal González. The play revives the humor and wit of early 20th-century Spanish stage tradition, featuring the one-act play 'La esposa y la chismosa' by the Hermanos Álvarez Quintero and the comic playlet 'La casa de los milagros' by Enrique Paradas and Joaquín Jiménez. Performances are free and held on September 3rd, 4th, and 5th at 9:30 PM.
The XXVII edition of Nights in the Alcázar Gardens continues to offer concerts until September 19th in the Cenador de la Alcoba Garden. Upcoming performances include Macarena Martínez and Jorge Gresa on September 3rd, Mariví Blasco and Álex Pernas on September 4th, Eternum Saxophon Quartet on September 5th, Pájaro Guitar Duo on September 8th, and Graci Rodríguez and Manuel Soto "Noly" on September 9th, all starting at 10:30 PM.
The V Pepe Suero Popular Music Festival will take place on Friday, September 4th, at Plaza Poeta Miguel Hernández at 9:30 PM. It will feature artists such as Arturo Pareja-Obregón, Fraskito, Javielito de la Cava, and Bella de Sousa, showcasing the diversity of root music and Andalusian cultural traditions.
On Saturday, September 5th, the II Macarena Flamenca Festival will be held at Plaza Virgen del Pilar (Barzola neighborhood) at 9:30 PM. Organized by the Macarena District, it will feature master José de la Tomasa and other artists including Potito, Antonio Reyes, Remedios Reyes, Manuel de la Tomasa, and Manuela Amador Carrasco.
As part of the XXIV Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla, the Engraving Hall of the Royal Artillery Factory hosts the exhibition 'La noche azul. Ópera Flamenca in the collection of Carlos Martín Ballester' until November 22nd. The exhibition, curated by Carlos Martín Ballester and Zaida Hernández-Úrculo, displays 328 pieces on the evolution of Ópera Flamenca between the 1920s and 1950s.
On September 9th, Plaza de San Francisco will host the sung proclamation 'Ecos Primitivos', directed by Segundo Falcón, as part of the Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla 2026. The performance will feature Esperanza Fernández, Pedro El Granaíno, Rafael de Utrera, and María Terremoto.
The Royal Artillery Factory also hosts the exhibition 'Hierve el huerto, ¡oh, oh!' by artist Irene Infantes, until September 20th. Additionally, the Atín Aya Hall presents 'Maquinaciones para un decenio' by Pive Amador, featuring photographs of Seville in the 1970s, also until the same date. Another exhibition at the Royal Artillery Factory is 'Te dormirás y soñarás con la canción de las flores' by Raquel Algaba, also until September 20th.
The Lower Chapter House of the Seville City Hall hosts the exhibition 'Masterpieces of Sevillian Painting', with works by Francisco de Zurbarán, Bartolomé Esteban Murillo, and Diego Velázquez. The Triana Ceramics Center presents 'Ritos, retos y restos' until October 10th, 2026.
Free guided tours and workshops are offered at the Royal Artillery Factory and to the exhibition 'Masterpieces of Sevillian Painting' at the City Hall's Lower Chapter House, requiring prior registration.
