The Seville City Council has reinforced its tree watering campaign in the Bellavista–La Palmera district, allocating 75,000 liters of water weekly for the care of 607 newly planted trees and those suffering from water stress.

The Parks and Gardens Service uses a 5,000-liter water truck, making three daily refills to supply 15,000 liters each day. The operation, active from Monday to Friday, focuses on new plantings and specimens requiring additional support for their establishment.
The Delegate for Arboriculture, Evelia Rincón, emphasized the importance of continuous monitoring for trees in their early years. "Every tree needs ongoing monitoring during its first few years to ensure it can develop normally," she stated, adding that "the daily work of the municipal teams is crucial for today's plantings to become tomorrow's green heritage."
The municipal planting campaign began in mid-November 2025 and concluded in March 2026. Periodic watering continues until the rains arrive, and with rising temperatures, the specific reinforcement irrigation campaign begins, remaining active until October.
In addition to new plantings, the operation attends to trees showing signs of water stress, adjusting irrigation based on the needs identified by municipal technicians to improve their adaptation and reduce the impact of intense heat.
Evelia Rincón also highlighted that "a greener city is also built with constant and planned maintenance," ensuring that these actions protect the trees and provide shade, comfort, and environmental benefits to residents for many years.
This initiative strengthens the green infrastructure of the Bellavista–La Palmera District through efficient water management and maintenance adapted to the trees' needs, moving towards a more livable, sustainable, and resilient city.
