The initial claim sought to prevent the performance of songs with political content during the reflection day ahead of the Andalusian elections on May 17. The event, organized by the Alcalá de Guadaíra City Council at Parque Centro, will feature various carnival groups.
The decision to withdraw the complaint followed intervention by provincial party officials. Initially, the political group argued that the festival violated electoral regulations, claiming that the lyrics could influence voters during a protected day.
“"We are not going to censor the Carnival groups, who are protected by freedom of expression."
The local government expressed surprise at the complaint, emphasizing that the festival had been planned for months and had no political purpose. The local administration defended the artistic freedom of the participants and confirmed that the event will proceed as planned, trusting in the maturity of the attendees.
