The operation began when patrols from the Armed Institute detected a suspicious vessel navigating without positioning systems or lights, a common tactic to avoid detection. Upon approach, agents confirmed it was a semi-rigid boat equipped with four powerful engines and loaded with burlap bales.
The crew, realizing they had been discovered, initiated a desperate escape, performing highly dangerous evasive maneuvers that endangered both their lives and those of the intervening agents. During the pursuit, the suspects threw drug bales and fuel canisters into the sea in an attempt to dispose of evidence and increase speed.
Ultimately, Civil Guard agents managed to board the vessel and neutralize its occupants. The official count of the seized merchandise amounted to one hundred bales, totaling four tons of hashish.
