The campus of the University of Almería welcomed its students this Monday, September 14th, marking the start of the 2026/2027 academic year. The institution reported excellent enrollment figures, with a 98% occupancy rate for new undergraduate admissions. Specifically, 35 out of the 42 undergraduate degrees have reached 100% of their capacity.
It is estimated that over 3,000 new students have begun their undergraduate studies. Continuing students also show high numbers, with 99% already enrolled, projected to reach nearly 9,000 students in the coming days. In total, the UAL anticipates a university community of almost 12,000 students this academic year.
Regarding postgraduate studies, official master's programs are currently at 50% capacity during the allocation phase, with an expectation to exceed 1,600 enrolled students. Doctoral programs maintain their open enrollment period.
The academic offering for this year includes 42 undergraduate degrees and 56 master's programs. A significant new addition is the UAL's launch of the Degree in Speech Therapy, in collaboration with the University of Seville. This program aims to strengthen Health Sciences education and responds to the social demand for professionals in the region.
Another new offering is the Master's Degree in Institutional Intelligence, Data Management, and Governance, jointly offered with the International University of Andalusia (UNIA). This program addresses the increasing complexity in decision-making through strategic data management, filling an educational gap at the intersection of data science and public administration.
Additionally, the Master's in Sexology has been remodeled and updated to align with new professional and research demands.
