Under the theme “Huércal dresses up for the fair 2026”, the initiative invites residents to adorn their homes with motifs alluding to Andalusian fairs and the Cruces de Mayo. The goal is to create a vibrant atmosphere in every corner of the municipality, attracting visitors and stimulating purchases in local establishments.

Those interested in participating have until April 29 at 8:00 PM to register. Participation is done by sending a WhatsApp message to 622 29 19 58, indicating the participant's name, address, and attaching between one and three photographs of the decoration. These images will be published on the City Council's Facebook profile for public voting.

The contest includes two prize categories, each awarded with 250 euros in vouchers. One prize will be granted by a jury, and the other, the public's choice award, will be decided by the number of “likes” the photographs receive on Facebook. The vouchers can be redeemed at participating businesses in Huércal de Almería chosen by the winners, with a one-month period for use.

Decorations must be displayed from April 30 to May 3. Photographs will be published on April 30, and the public voting period will run until May 3 at 11:59 PM. Once the contest concludes, the winners will be announced, and municipal staff will contact them to deliver the prizes.

It is essential that participating homes are located within the municipal area of Huércal de Almería and that the decoration is visible from the outside. Participants are encouraged to use elements such as lanterns, fans, shawls, and any other festive motif that reflects the creativity and spirit of Andalusian celebrations.
