The Villa de Níjar hosted last night the closing concert of the IV 'Entre Cántaros' Flamenco Festival, headlined by cantaor Miguel de Tena. The event, organized by the Culture Department of the Níjar City Council, brought together prominent national flamenco figures in four different locations within the municipality, establishing itself as a major summer cultural event.
The performance by Miguel de Tena, a leading figure in Extremaduran flamenco, marked the grand finale of an edition praised for its artistic quality and the strong public response. Throughout the summer, the festival presented four events that combined experience, talent, and diversity.
The program began on August 6th in El Pozo de los Frailes with a performance by Jerez-born bailaora Beatriz Morales. Subsequently, on August 22nd in San José, Granada-based bailaora Eva Manzano offered a contemporary vision of flamenco. On September 3rd, Agua Amarga hosted the performance of La Moneta, a prominent figure in contemporary flamenco dance and winner of the El Desplante award.
The Councilor for Culture, María Jesús López, described the edition as highly positive, stating that "the public success... demonstrates that Entre Cántaros has become a benchmark cultural event in our municipality." She emphasized the importance of a decentralized program that reaches "the different localities within the municipal term."
López highlighted that flamenco "is part of our identity and our roots," and reaffirmed the City Council's commitment to continue promoting initiatives like 'Entre Cántaros' to enrich the cultural offerings and showcase the "unique spaces that Níjar possesses."
