The Metropolitan Transport Consortium of the Almería Area has reinforced its night services for the Almería Fair. Four special lines will connect up to eight municipalities with the capital's fairgrounds during peak attendance days, starting on Friday, August 21st.
This year, the service is extended to Alhama de Almería and Tabernas, following their incorporation into the Consortium in January. The lines will operate from Alhama de Almería, Gádor, Benahadux, Santa Fe de Mondújar, Pechina, Viator, Huércal de Almería, Rioja, and Tabernas. Departures towards the capital will be around 9:30 PM, with returns from the fairgrounds between 4:00 AM and 4:30 AM, depending on the route.
The Consortium's general manager, Luis Miguel Carmona, highlighted the demand for these services and the expansion to new municipalities, describing it as an extraordinary interurban connection plan.
The Almería City Council has established an exclusive stop for these metropolitan lines near the Estadio de los Juegos Mediterráneos, facilitating access without private vehicles.
The four special routes are: Line 1 (Alhama, Gádor, Benahadux), Line 2 (Santa Fe de Mondújar), Line 3 (Pechina, Viator, Huércal de Almería), and Line 4 (Tabernas, Rioja, Benahadux).
Fares will remain the usual Consortium rates. Users of the metropolitan transport card will receive a 70% discount, with prices starting from 0.53 euros.
The Consortium's general manager also emphasized the effort by the Junta de Andalucía to make this service possible for municipalities with limited economic capacity.
