The Governing Board of the Provincial Council has greenlit around twenty projects, including tenders and awards, which will translate into actions for the improvement of services and infrastructure. Of these 20 projects, 7 will initiate the tender bidding phase, and 13 have already been awarded. The total investment for these works amounts to 7.3 million euros.
The actions include improvements to urbanizations and municipal roads, transformation of public spaces, the construction of a scenic space, and upgrades to provincial roads and cemeteries. The president of the Provincial Council of Almería, José Antonio García Alcaina, highlighted that the institution is reinforcing itself as "the investment engine and the main support and pillar for municipalities," through Provincial Plans, Road Plans, and Extraordinary Plans.
In the last 3 months, the Council has approved 38 million euros in tenders and awards, activating 30 million euros that will materialize 94 projects. Among the approved works are the paving of roads in Suflí, María, Cuevas, Lubrín, Gádor, and Alcolea, the renovation of the access road to the Calar Alto Observatory, and the AL-8101 road between Oria and Albox.
Two of the largest investment projects focus on the PAI Almanzora and PAI Los Vélez, which will allow for the transformation of the Paseo Parque Virgen del Socorro in Tíjola and the construction of a Scenic Space in María. Funds will also be invested in the Rehabilitation and Renovation of the Esparto Interpretation Center in El Contador and in the conservation of the Road Network in the South and North Zones.
