The plenary session of the provincial institution, held at the Provincial Palace, greenlit the allocation of funds for the Provincial Plans and the Road Plan, key programs for municipal development.
A budget of 2 million euros for the Provincial Plans will be dedicated to modernizing infrastructure and basic services in Fiñana and La Mojonera. Fiñana will receive 381,500 euros for street urbanizations, while La Mojonera will get 1.7 million euros for the repair and climate control of its municipal swimming pool.
With this approval, the Council has mobilized nearly 50 million euros in works during the current term (2024-2027), funding 103 projects throughout the province to ensure quality services and enhance citizen well-being.
The spokesperson for the Governing Team, Carlos Sánchez, highlighted that the Provincial Plans are a fundamental tool for transforming municipalities in collaboration with town councils, ensuring excellent infrastructure and public spaces.
Meanwhile, the Road Plan will receive half a million euros for the improvement and rehabilitation of routes in small municipalities such as Alicún, Terque, Turrillas, Ohanes, Santa Fe de Mondújar, and Turre.
The current Road Plan is the most ambitious in the Council's history, with a total investment of 14 million euros for the rural road network, including a new line for roads of social, heritage, or tourist interest.
Carlos Sánchez added that these works aim to improve the condition, safety, and functionality of routes essential for daily activities, access to farms, scattered settlements, rural homes, and natural areas, as well as facilitating tourism.
The Municipal Road Plan 2024-2027 is a key collaboration tool between the Council and town councils to conserve and modernize the rural road network, promoting safer and more efficient mobility throughout Almería.
In recent months, the Council has already approved the awarding of works for approximately 700,000 euros in municipalities including Alcolea, Bayarque, Bédar, María, Suflí, Tabernas, Vélez-Blanco, Huécija, and Fondón.
