The Provincial Council of Almería and the Mojácar City Council have signed an agreement to promote the creation of an educational and cultural space in the municipality. The project, whose first phase will focus on the construction of a Children's Education Center, parking, and plot adaptation, will be located in the Altos del Albardinar area, in Mojácar Playa.
The president of the Provincial Council of Almería highlighted the importance of supporting key infrastructure for municipalities. "For the Diputación, it is a priority to support investments that improve public services," he stated, emphasizing the contribution of 500,000 euros to this project through a collaboration agreement. The provincial institution will provide an advance payment of 50% to expedite the start of the works.
For his part, the mayor of Mojácar, Francisco García, highlighted the positive impact for residents, noting that the total investment amounts to €1,435,000, of which the City Council assumes €935,000. This facility is considered essential to respond to the growth of Mojácar Playa.
The first phase of the project, with a base tender budget of €1,435,000, aims to be completed by 2027. The financing is distributed with €935,000 from the Mojácar City Council and €500,000 from the Provincial Council. The Provincial Council will make an advance payment of 50% of its subsidy after the signing of the agreement.
This project lays the foundation for future stages, which include the incorporation of a new library, a coworking space, the municipal archive, and a performance space, forming an integral complex for education, culture, and coexistence.
