The Port Authority of Almería (APA) is engaged in a process of expanding port activity in the ports of Almería and Carboneras. The objective is the direct implementation of new industry and the maximization and diversification of port traffic. To this end, the president of the APA, Rosario Soto Rico, and the Deputy Director of Strategy and Business Development of Puertos del Estado, Álvaro Rodríguez Dapena, held a working meeting at the Port of Almería with the port authority's management team.
Rosario Soto stated that, "In the remainder of 2026, through the investment attraction we have worked on in recent years, we will generate industry in both ports and boost solid bulk traffic; this port activity will make us more competitive and increase job creation in the province."
Álvaro Rodríguez, with extensive experience at Puertos del Estado, advised the APA team on drafting the tender documents for the implementation of a steel pipe industry at the Port of Almería, promoted by the company Noksel. This company has requested a port public domain plot of more than 4 hectares.
Regarding the Port of Carboneras, the meeting addressed the valorization of the former Endesa port facilities, with the aim of exponentially increasing solid bulk exports from the Port Authority of Almería, which already leads the national port system.
