The events occurred this Saturday after a witness alerted the Local Police of Granada about a driver exhibiting reckless behavior near the Parque de las Ciencias, having run a red light and nearly causing a pedestrian accident.
A patrol located the reported vehicle and, upon confirming the dangerous driving, the driver initiated a high-speed flight through streets such as Constitución, Gran Vía, and Plaza Nueva.
During the pursuit, the fugitive put pedestrians and other drivers in grave danger, forcing several individuals to move aside to avoid being hit or colliding. The chase ended on Carrera del Darro, where the individual lost control of the car.
Following the accident, the driver attempted to flee on foot but was eventually intercepted and arrested. The individual, who has multiple prior police records and was on prison leave, was accompanied by his minor son.
The rapid coordination between citizens, the 092 control room, and operational units made it possible to prevent much more serious consequences.
The police intervention underscores the importance of citizen collaboration and the swift response of security forces in preventing major incidents.
