The company EMO Mantenimiento y Obras will be responsible for carrying out the intervention, with an awarded budget of 101,067 euros, including VAT. The entire financing for this amount comes from the Sevilla 107 Plan of the Provincial Council of Seville.
The space subject to renovation is located at the rear of the Las Gemelas building, a property of high heritage value integrated into the city's historic center. The premises, previously used as workshops and currently disused, occupy bays adjacent to the temple.
As explained by Ángel Peña, Urban Planning delegate, the objective is the "functional recovery of this existing municipal property, optimizing public resources through an intervention respectful of the built heritage".
The action will focus on four main lines: interior adaptation and redistribution without affecting the load-bearing structure; definitive separation between the temple and municipal facilities through reversible enclosure; the creation of a new independent access to the first floor with an external metal staircase on the facade facing Calle Azacanes; and the improvement of installations, safety conditions, and habitability.
Peña emphasizes that "the project represents a necessary, proportionate, and respectful intervention with the heritage value of this building," which will allow the reuse of an underutilized space, improve its safety and accessibility, and ensure public use compatible with the complex's heritage character, acting with criteria of minimal impact, reversibility, and sustainability.
