The mayor of Baza, Pedro J. Ramos, and the Councilor for Sports, José Antonio Valdivieso, have received at the City Hall a representation of the newly formed Baza 1939 football club. This entity revives the senior category in the municipality and arrives with great enthusiasm to begin its journey.
Representing the new sports entity at the reception were the president, José Camenforte; a director, Francisco Túnez; and the coach, Francisco López, widely known as “Rivas”. The club officials shared details of their project and received public support for any necessary assistance.
CD Baza 1939 will commence its official competition on Sunday, September 20th, joining Group 2 of the Tercera Andaluza Sénior. The squad consists of over twenty players, primarily from Baza, with some members from the surrounding region. Ticket season passes are currently on sale for fifteen euros. The entity will also field a youth team competing in Group 2 of the Cuarta Andaluza Juvenil.
The official presentation to the fans will take place on Saturday, September 5th, as part of the Cascamorras Trophy, where they will face FC Vélez Rubio. The match will kick off at 5:00 PM at the municipal sports center.
“"From the Baza City Council, we wish the new CD Baza 1939 all the best of luck; as I have conveyed to its directors, we are here to help with anything they need and that we can facilitate. They represent our city, and that deserves recognition, above any results they may achieve. Sport is health and one of the main values we must instill in future generations. Keep up the spirit."
The training sessions and home matches for CD Baza 1939 will be held at the municipal sports center's football field.
