The Urban Planning Department of the Baza City Council, led by Mª Carmen López, is implementing an ambitious plan to enhance the city's children's playgrounds. These interventions go beyond routine maintenance, addressing the specific needs of each space.
This Monday, August 10th, two updated children's recreational areas will reopen: one in the Pablo Picasso neighborhood and another in Constitution Park. At the Pablo Picasso park, most play equipment and the perimeter fence have been renovated, replacing the old wooden fence with a more secure and easily maintained galvanized metal one. The investment in this park has exceeded 21,000 euros.
In Constitution Park, the work focused on one children's area, changing the play equipment and the ground surface to increase child safety. The department plans to intervene soon in the adjacent play area, also renewing the ground surface and replacing the perimeter fence with a more suitable metal one. The current investment in this park is around 17,000 euros.
The improvement plan includes future interventions in other parks, such as Los Prados Park (renewal of play equipment and general maintenance), the park in the Francisco de Velasco neighborhood, the park in the Al-Ghaba neighborhood, the playground at the beginning of the Benamaurel road, and the Romero Alpuente neighborhood, among others.
The goal is for all the city's playgrounds, which are heavily used spaces, to be in perfect condition within a few months. The councilor highlighted the importance of the investment for the child population, emphasizing the need to educate them from the start in respecting and correctly using public facilities. A visit to the renovation works of two of these spaces was made alongside the mayor, Pedro J. Ramos.
