The mayor of Baza, Pedro J. Ramos, and the Councilor for Urban Planning, Mª Carmen López, supervised this Wednesday the renovation works of the municipal water deposit at Cuesta del Francés. The intervention, which involves an almost complete repair of the building, is well underway.
The company responsible for the execution is finalizing the roof layer, which will soon be covered with asphalt felt and a layer of gravel for added protection. The project also includes the repair of facade elements, which will feature painting and environmental improvements.
The interior of the facility has undergone a significant transformation. Pillars supporting the roof have been removed, and the walls and floor have been treated with a much more hygienic, waterproof, and durable substance, ensuring higher quality water management.
“"It is incredible that this municipal facility had not been acted upon much sooner, because its condition was lamentable. We have completely renewed the roof, which was threatening to collapse, and we have rehabilitated the water tanks, eliminating their deterioration and facilitating water treatment with greater guarantees. It is proving to be worth the effort."
