The popular Santiago neighborhood in Baza commemorates its patron saint, Saint James the Apostle, with its traditional festivals taking place on July 24, 25, and 26. The neighborhood association AVESAN is organizing this event, which offers an extensive program of activities designed for all ages. Highlights include festivals, community gatherings, and religious celebrations.
The service bar for attendees will be managed by the Band of Cornets and Drums of El Nazareno de Baza. The schedule is detailed below:
Friday, July 24: The day will begin at 1:00 PM with the opening of the bar by the Band of CC and TT Nazareno de Baza. A 'tardeo' (afternoon party) will follow at 3:00 PM. In the afternoon, at 7:00 PM, there will be inflatables and children's games in the Plaza de Santiago, organized by the City Council of Baza. At 8:00 PM, a Zumba session will be held with Vero Llorente. The evening will continue with a festival featuring Ángel Lozano and Jennifer Pasca at 9:30 PM, followed by Bingo at 11:00 PM and a set by Dj Víctor González at 11:30 PM.
Saturday, July 25: The bar will open at 12:00 PM. At 2:00 PM, a popular rice dish (costing 5 euros per plate) and a neighborhood gathering will take place in the Plaza de Santiago. The afternoon will continue with a 'tardeo' by Dj Medina at 4:00 PM and a foosball tournament in the Plaza de Santiago at 5:00 PM. At 8:00 PM, the Solemn Mass of Saint James the Apostle will be officiated by parish priest D. Sergio. The group “Leben” will perform a concert at 10:00 PM, which will resume after a raffle at 11:00 PM. The musical day will conclude with Dj Medina at 12:30 AM.
Sunday, July 26: The final day of the festivities will begin at 8:00 PM with an invitation to chocolate and churros. This treat will be free for members of the “Avesán” neighborhood association and will cost 5 euros for non-members.
