The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated high temperature warnings in the province of Malaga for this weekend, coinciding with the start of August. The Antequera region is at orange level, while Ronda is at yellow level. These warnings are forecast for Friday and Saturday.
In Antequera, the orange alert will be active from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with maximum temperatures potentially reaching 40 degrees Celsius. For the Ronda region, the level is yellow during the same hours, with expected maximum temperatures of up to 38 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, on the Malaga coast, maximum temperatures will hover around 30 degrees Celsius, values considered more typical for this time of year. Aemet has also indicated the forecast of dust in suspension this Friday in the southern part of the province.
For Saturday, similar temperatures are expected on the coast, although locally temperatures could exceed 30 degrees Celsius, even approaching 35. By Sunday, the end of this heatwave is anticipated, with no meteorological warnings active. Inland, temperatures will remain above 35 degrees Celsius, and on the coast, they could exceed 37 degrees Celsius in some locations.
The trend for the beginning of next week is a general decrease in temperatures. For Monday, maximums of 33 degrees Celsius are expected in Antequera and 34 in Malaga capital. On Tuesday, the trend is expected to remain similar.
