The event, titled “Las Cosas del Campo” (Things of the Countryside), will commence on Thursday, April 16, at 8:00 PM with a discussion featuring writer Karina Sáinz Borgo. Activities will primarily take place at the San Zoilo Municipal Library and Fernández Viagas Square, solidifying Antequera's position as a cultural landmark.
Throughout the festival, prominent literary figures will participate. On April 17, Jaime de los Santos and Luz Gabás will be present, while April 18 will feature Sergio del Molino and Juan Ramón Lucas. Additionally, a musical discussion with The New Raemon is scheduled.
April 20 will be dedicated to the figure of José Antonio Muñoz Rojas, with the presentation of the facsimile of his work Las cosas del campo, led by José Escalante. A day later, on April 21, Guadalupe Iglesias will present her book Pucheros de vida.
Fernández Viagas Square will host a wide range of cultural activities, both morning and afternoon. These include recitals and readings by Grupo Rapsodia (April 20), CEPER Antequera (April 21), the Antequerano Creative Writing Workshop (April 21 and 23), and the workshop directed by Rocío Testa (April 23). There will also be space for theater and dramatization with the CPA Senior Group on April 22 and performances by the Mollete Kolektiv on April 24, concluding with a musical discussion.
On April 23, a thematic day inspired by the era of El Lazarillo de Tormes will be held, featuring workshops and activities. The stage program will include the plays Las cosas del campo (April 23) and Del campo y del tiempo (April 24).
Children will also have their dedicated space on April 25 with storytelling, spring craft workshops, and puppet theater by Compañía Afinal. The festival will conclude on April 26 with a performance of The Mousetrap by Agatha Christie, taking place at the Casa de la Cultura starting at 7:00 PM.
