The Civil Guard has dismantled a significant criminal network in the province of Granada and Málaga with the arrest of seven men aged between 32 and 53. The operation, named Nazarí 21 Spill 1, has uncovered a complex web of drug trafficking and organized crime.
Five of the detainees face charges for two counts of attempted homicide. These charges stem from a violent incident that occurred late last year in Chimeneas, where a 'drug rip' (theft of narcotics between organizations) took place, culminating in gunfire. One of the victims sustained a gunshot wound to the head.
The investigation began on the early morning of November 6, 2025, following a report of a possible traffic accident in Chimeneas. Officers discovered a vehicle with a strong odor of narcotics, and shortly after, another crashed car nearby. Later, a third vehicle was found abandoned on the A92 highway near Loja, containing approximately 200 kilograms of hashish.
The inquiries, which included testimonies and technical analyses, pointed towards a drug theft between organizations. The investigation became more complex when one of the seized vehicles was set on fire days after the incident. After months of work, the criminal group, residing in the province of Málaga, was identified.
In May, searches were conducted at the suspects' residences, resulting in the seizure of seven cars, a motorcycle, 47,690 euros in cash, a banknote counting machine, 37.38 kilograms of hashish, mobile devices, 9-millimeter ammunition, 'walkie-talkies', GPS trackers, and a t-shirt bearing the emblem of the Civil Guard. A laboratory for processing hashish was also discovered.
The seven detainees are accused of drug trafficking, violent robbery, illegal possession of firearms, membership in a criminal organization, theft of a motor vehicle, and document forgery. Five of them are also charged with attempted homicide for the shots fired during the drug rip. One of the arrested individuals also faces charges for property damage due to the arson of a seized vehicle.
Following their presentation to judicial authorities, six of the individuals have been ordered to remain in prison. The operation remains open, and further arrests are not ruled out.
