The Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía (BOJA) announced on April 9 the modification of the Job Position Relations (RPT), which allows for an increase in staff at the Prosecutor's Offices in Algeciras and eight other Andalusian locations. This measure involves the integration of an additional position for the Procedural and Administrative Processing Corps in each affected office.
The resolution impacts the Provincial Prosecutor's Offices of Almería, Córdoba, Granada, Huelva, Málaga, and Sevilla, as well as the Area Prosecutor's Offices of Algeciras (Cádiz) and Marbella (Málaga), and the Territorial Section of Motril (Granada). In all these locations, one more procedural processing official will be added.
This expansion addresses the new responsibilities in sexual violence matters assumed by the specialized Prosecutor's Offices for Violence against Women. These competencies are outlined in the 2025 Public Justice Service Efficiency Law, specifically for the Jurisdiction of Violence against Women.
Previously, the Ministry of Justice had already increased the number of prosecutors through Royal Decree 422/2025, dated June 3. The rise in both the number of prosecutors and the workload in these offices has now led to the reinforcement of support staff.
In the Campo de Gibraltar, the staff expansion in the Algeciras Prosecutor's Offices represents a direct strengthening of the management of procedures related to violence against women and sexual violence. The new procedural processing position will be responsible for administrative management tasks, procedural impetus, and support for the work of the prosecutors.
The Ministry of Justice, Local Administration and Public Function approved this RPT modification after negotiations with the most representative trade unions and obtaining the mandatory reports from the departments of Public Administration and Finance. The resolution came into effect this Friday, following its official publication, allowing the new positions to be incorporated into the structure of each prosecutor's office.
