The service interruption has caused concern among residents in the northern area of La Línea de la Concepción. The lack of power prevents the use of air conditioning, a critical issue given the yellow heat warning currently in effect for the city this Sunday.
The Socialist Municipal Group has criticized the lack of public information from the local government regarding the causes of the breakdown and the expected restoration time. The group highlighted the risks this blackout poses to vulnerable residents, particularly the elderly and those dependent on medical equipment such as oxygen therapy systems.
The political group emphasized that electricity is an essential service for daily life, including food preservation and the operation of basic appliances. While acknowledging that the utility company is working to resolve the issue, they have called for strengthened preventive maintenance of the electrical infrastructure to prevent future prolonged outages.
