This adhesion is part of the Smart Campo de Gibraltar Sustainable Tourism Plan, a program co-financed by the European Union through NextGenerationEU funds. The main objective is to advance towards a more accessible, sustainable, and competitive tourism model throughout the territory.
The catalog seeks to identify resources, services, and experiences that meet universal accessibility criteria, providing clear information to both residents and visitors. It will also allow for the evaluation of the adaptation level of spaces and guide offerings towards different public profiles.
Puerto Sotogrande's participation includes its guided tours and routes through the port facilities, as well as inclusive nautical activities developed through the Adapted Sailing School (EVA). These actions are carried out in collaboration with the Real Club Marítimo Sotogrande and the Navega Foundation.
Among the available resources, a specialized crane stands out, facilitating access to boats for people with reduced mobility. According to information provided by the entity, the port also implements measures to improve accessibility in its facilities and services.
Inclusion in this regional catalog will provide greater visibility to these initiatives, grouping the accessible offerings from different municipalities in Campo de Gibraltar. The aim is to simplify the planning of stays and activities for people with disabilities, the elderly, or those with specific support needs.
The organization notes that Puerto Sotogrande developed its own universal accessibility plan years ago, which includes actions to progressively adapt its spaces and services. Participation in the regional catalog is now integrated into this ongoing work.
