On Wednesday, May 13, a candidate for the presidency of the Junta de Andalucía is scheduled to hold a campaign event in Algeciras. The event will take place at the gates of the General Consulate of the Kingdom of Morocco, a location frequently visited by the Moroccan community residing in the city.
The choice of this location is not coincidental, as it coincides with an immigrant regularization process that generates significant foot traffic in the area. The political party has called a press conference for 12:30 PM on the Río de la Miel promenade.
“"It is unacceptable that in our land there are fewer and fewer Christian symbols that defend and protect us all, while there are more and more mosques."
The central theme of the event will revolve around 'national priority,' a principle advocating for the preference of Spanish citizens in accessing public aid and social benefits. This concept has been a fundamental pillar of the party's campaign, sparking debate among various political groups.
The party's presence in Algeciras is justified by previous election results, where it emerged as the second most voted force in the city. Furthermore, the party has maintained a critical stance regarding what they term the 'Islamic colonization' of the city, referring to the consolidation of the Muslim community and the construction of religious infrastructure.
