The initiative ‘Orgullo de Mercado’ (Market Pride) brought the LGTBIQ+ Pride celebration to the neighborhoods of Seville, choosing the Pino Montano Market as the venue for a festive and assertive day. The proposal aims to move Pride programming away from usual stages and turn municipal markets into meeting points for diversity.
Drag artist Xenon participated in the event, touring the market and interacting with vendors, residents, and attendees. Her presence served to bring this artistic expression to a diverse audience in a familiar and close environment, promoting coexistence and LGTBIQ+ visibility in daily life.
This activity is part of Seville's Month of Diversity and will take place in various markets throughout June. The goal is to temporarily transform these commercial spaces into open cultural stages, where music, art, and coexistence merge with the spirit of Pride.
The Pino Montano Market, a hub for local commerce since 1987, hosted the event amidst active neighborhood participation, demonstrating how these venues can become centers for cultural and social encounters.
