The president of the Mancomunidad de Municipios del Campo de Gibraltar, Susana Pérez Custodio, and the deputy vice-president for Citizen Participation, María Teresa García León, met with the senior brother of the Venerable Hermandad y Cofradía de Penitencia de Nuestra Señora de las Angustias de San Roque, José María Núñez Llaves, accompanied by two members of its Governing Board. The meeting served to detail the program for the corporation's 50th anniversary, headquartered at the Chapel of Nuestra Señora de la Visitación de San Roque.
The brotherhood, closely linked to the parish and confraternity life of the Campo de Gibraltar, has prepared a program of religious, educational, cultural, and fellowship activities. The central event of the commemoration will be the extraordinary procession of Nuestra Señora de las Angustias, scheduled for September 18, 2027, an event of great significance for the community.
Representatives from the Mancomunidad expressed the institution's support for the initiative and its willingness to collaborate. They highlighted the role of brotherhoods and confraternities as a fundamental part of the associative fabric of the Campo de Gibraltar, their contribution to citizen participation, coexistence, and social commitment, as well as their work in preserving the region's cultural and religious heritage.
