Ana Oliva Pedrero, a medical student from the University of Cádiz, has completed her final year practical training at the University Hospital of La Línea. Her clinical rotations took place between October and April, covering areas such as Ophthalmology, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Gynecology, and the Poniente Health Center.
The mayor of La Línea de la Concepción, Juan Franco, met with the student, calling it 'a genuine pride' and expressing confidence that this initiative will help retain local talent and address the shortage of healthcare professionals in the municipality.
Oliva, for her part, highlighted the positive reception from the medical team and expressed her interest in the Ophthalmology specialty, as well as her desire to practice in the municipality in the future.
The University Hospital of La Línea officially received its accreditation as a teaching and research center on October 22, 2024, following an agreement between the Junta de Andalucía and the UCA.
