The new television platform, FanPlay TV, joins the offering to broadcast the Primera Federación, a competition in which Algeciras Club de Fútbol participates. As the successor to the previous platform Footters, FanPlay TV will offer all the league's matches for a price of 99.95 euros per season.
The project is led by Julio Fariñas, who was previously CEO of Footters and held a role at LaLiga as director of B2C audiovisual business. Fariñas, with a past as a player for Unión Deportiva Los Barrios and Real Balompédica Linense, aims to boost the competition with a new vision.
With the arrival of FanPlay TV, the Primera Federación will have two platforms broadcasting the competition in its entirety: FanPlay TV and FootballClub. Additionally, DAZN and Movistar Plus+ will broadcast a linear channel featuring ten matches per matchday and the entire promotion play-off.
FanPlay TV's signal will have the official approval of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), ensuring a production standard of four to six cameras per match. Last season, the competition was acquired by various platforms and regional television channels, and it is expected that several will renew their commitment.
The subscription price will be 99.95 euros per season, covering all matches and the promotion play-off. One of the new features is the allowance for up to four simultaneous streams, which could reduce the individual cost to approximately 25 euros per user.
This new model aims to generate benefits for the clubs, which will begin negotiations with the platform to explore new commercial revenue streams, such as sponsorships, that can increase their financial resources.
FanPlay TV will integrate over 100 television channels, including the MásMedia Deportes package with LaLiga Hypermotion and Eurosport channels, among other content. The company emphasizes that the model "integrates sport, television, and distribution through telecommunications operators, bringing content closer to fans in a more accessible and connected way."
Julio Fariñas expressed his excitement about launching FanPlay TV, describing it as a project with a "different vision on how to distribute, consume, and monetize sport." He highlighted his team's experience and the significance of returning to the Primera Federación.
The platform will also encompass the entire audiovisual value chain, from rights acquisition to the development of new monetization models for competitions, clubs, operators, and brands.
