This initiative, launched in 2025, aims to bring together brotherhoods, religious corporations, and groups linked to Holy Week in the region, intending to establish itself as a benchmark annual event following the positive reception of its first edition.
The president of the Mancomunidad, Susana Pérez Custodio, highlighted the value of “Capiroteando” as a meeting point that transcends the strictly religious, contributing to heritage preservation, the maintenance of traditions, and cultural revitalization.
Meanwhile, the vice-president of Citizen Participation, María Teresa García León, emphasized the opportunity the gathering provides to strengthen collaboration among entities from different municipalities, allowing for the sharing of experiences and knowledge.
The central symposium of this edition will be “Brotherhood Heritage, towards Preventive Conservation: Guidelines and Actions,” led by Alejandro Redondo Torres, a specialist in the conservation of brotherhood assets.
The event will conclude with a social gathering and a concert of processional marches performed by the Cultural Association ‘Maestro Infantes’ Music Band from Los Barrios.
The initiative is part of the Innova Campo de Gibraltar program, supported by the Diputación de Cádiz, aiming for innovation to protect and promote the region's heritage and traditions.
