The red-and-white club has worked intensely in recent days to comply with the extensive documentation and requirements demanded by the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to compete in the third tier. The official resolution from the Sole Competition Judge is expected to be published this Wednesday, confirming the team's participation in the 2026/27 season.
Algeciras CF was among a group of lagging teams that had to finalize administrative procedures at the last minute. The RFEF had granted an additional period for error correction, acknowledging extraordinary situations that required individualized analysis. The club has reiterated that no surprises are expected and that the process will be successfully completed, as has happened in the previous five seasons.
Three other clubs, Cartagena, Teruel, and Real Avilés Industrial, shared a similar situation of urgency at the deadline's close. Teruel had already received federation approval on Tuesday. Of these four teams, three will compete in Group II of the First Federation.
The RFEF had previously notified the registration deadline and the possibility of correction, detailing that the validation of documentation occurs after verifying that all regulatory requirements for competition are met.
This registration process follows a crucial June for Algeciras CF, during which it settled a debt with FIFA, an essential step for sports management. Having also overcome the claims deadlines from the Spanish Footballers' Association (AFE), the registration will seal the club's sixth consecutive season in the First Federation.
