The CCOO union has filed a lawsuit with the Social Court of Algeciras to resolve the labor situation of Algesa's part-time weekend staff.

The CCOO union section at the public cleaning company Algesa, in Algeciras, has once again demanded a solution for employees who work weekends and holidays on part-time contracts. The union considers the current working conditions for this group to be insufficient to ensure adequate economic compensation.
CCOO argues that a pathway must be created for these workers to access full-time vacancies that arise within the company. The union organization states it possesses a legal report from its national services that supports the priority of part-time employees in applying for these positions, according to current legislation.

"The report was provided to the delegate councilor for Cleaning of the Algeciras City Council, Vicente Palomares, who, according to the union, committed to offering a response that has not yet occurred."

Due to the lack of progress, CCOO has initiated legal actions for the Social Court to determine if the labor rights of this collective are being respected. The union accuses the management of Algesa of failing to apply the legal provisions regarding the filling of vacancies by workers with part-time contracts.
In parallel, the CCOO Habitat federation has called assemblies with the affected employees to study a calendar of mobilizations and present their demands to municipal political leaders. Although CCOO keeps the door open for negotiation, it deems it necessary to resume protests if no progress is made in addressing their claims.
