The Alicante-based company solidifies its position as a maritime logistics operator in the Mediterranean and Atlantic. Freight transport, accounting for 36% of its total revenue, stands as a fundamental pillar for Baleària, with particular importance on routes to the Balearic Islands and Morocco.
Connections with North Africa, such as the Tangier Med–Algeciras and Nador–Almería routes, have been crucial in boosting trade flows between Spain and Morocco, contributing to the growth of ro-ro traffic in the Port of Algeciras.
“"The results reflect Baleària's increasingly relevant role in our clients' supply chains, both in non-peninsular territories and international connections. We offer a reliable, flexible, and efficient service with a lower environmental footprint."
Following the recent acquisition of Armas Trasmediterránea, Baleària strengthens its leadership in the European maritime sector. The annual freight traffic forecast now stands at 11 million linear meters, driven by expansion in the Strait.
In terms of sustainability, Baleària has reduced CO2 emissions per linear meter transported by 12%, thanks to improvements in its fleet's energy efficiency and the use of lower-impact fuels. The shipping company is advancing towards a more efficient and environmentally friendly logistics model, aligned with its decarbonization roadmap.
Furthermore, the company has launched a new online freight space booking service, allowing clients to check availability, associated services, and prices in real-time, and book space immediately, streamlining management and improving logistical planning.
