The festivities officially began on June 12th with the opening of the 175th Livestock Fair at the Las Palomas bullring. This exhibition, focused on select Retinta breed cattle, reaffirms its deep-rooted status as one of Andalusia's most significant livestock events. Previously, on Wednesday, the traditional procession of the Virgen took place from the chapel of Las Colinas church to the bullring, an event that drew numerous devotees.
Tonight, the María Cristina Park will serve as the main venue for the coronation of the Infantil and Juvenil Queens of the 2026 Feria Real, as well as the inaugural speech by María Lucía Sánchez Benítez, known artistically as Malú.
Tomorrow, Saturday, the day will be highlighted by the announcing parade, which will depart at 7:30 PM from the vicinity of the Port of Algeciras. The parade will travel along Virgen del Carmen avenue, accompanied by music bands and charangas, until reaching the Milenio roundabout. Afterward, the queens and their honor courts will proceed to the Antonio Quintero Fair Park for the ceremonial lighting of the extraordinary illumination at midnight.
Sunday is dedicated to 'Domingo por Sevillanas', filling the fairgrounds with music and dancing from midday. The program also includes a Rociera mass at the Corpus Christi church and the traditional horse parade organized by the equestrian clubs El Caballo and El Estribo. The day will conclude with the awards ceremony for the Livestock Fair at the Caseta Municipal.
Monday will focus on children with popular prices on attractions and a performance by the group Salmalandia at the Caseta Municipal. Additionally, the Monumental Las Palomas bullring will host a practical class by the Miguel Mateo Miguelín Bullfighting School, and the results of the best facade and interior stall competition will be announced.
Tuesday will be dedicated to recognitions and awards, with the presentation of prizes for micro-story, float, stall, and municipal football competitions at the Onda Algeciras TV stand.
On Wednesday, June 24th, a local holiday, the day will begin with a mass in the chapel of the Patio de Caballos at the bullring, followed by an equestrian parade. In the afternoon, the bullfighting season will commence at Las Palomas with a bullfight from the La Palmosilla ranch for matadors Sebastián Castella, Daniel Luque, and Emilio de Justo.
The bullfighting events will continue on Thursday with a fight from Torrealta, featuring David Galván, Tomás Rufo, and Marco Pérez. Friday will present a notable lineup with bulls from Zalduendo for Alejandro Talavante, Juan Ortega, and Pablo Aguado.
The program will conclude on Saturday, June 27th, with a final horse parade, the awards ceremony organized by Onda Algeciras TV, and a bullfight on horseback at the bullring featuring Sergio Galán, Lea Vicens, and Guillermo Hermoso.
The farewell for this edition of the Feria Real de Algeciras will arrive at midnight with the traditional fireworks display, which will illuminate the city's sky and mark the end of a celebration that brings together thousands of people around its customs and identity.
