Algeciras CF has taken significant steps in forming its team for the upcoming 2026/27 season, marking its sixth consecutive campaign in the Primera Federación. The club has launched its season ticket drive and initiated the new sporting project under the guidance of Ramón Robert institutionally and Jordi Figueras in the sporting area. The entity has settled its debt with FIFA, ensuring compliance with its financial obligations.
On the sporting front, sporting director Jordi Figueras, in consensus with Adrián Colunga, is shaping a squad that currently comprises fifteen players. The goalkeeping position appears set with Iván Moreno, while the defense is the most populated line, featuring four center-backs and experienced full-backs like captains Tomás Sánchez and Paris Adot, along with the versatile Joseca. The addition of one more full-back, likely under-23, is expected to complete this area.
The midfield will be led by veteran captain Iván Turrillo, alongside Óscar Castro, who has adapted to the league and the city. Dani Garrido and Joe Riley also remain, with Toni Ramón as a new signing, a hardworking player with shooting ability.
The attacking zone is where the team is most exposed, with the continuity of Juanma García and the arrival of winger Diego Iglesias. The club continues to negotiate renewals and does not rule out signing forwards who can provide the necessary goals, while remaining cautious about the high market prices in Primera Federación.
The new Algeciras needs a lot of firepower and balance. This past season was arguably the weakest point of a squad where fans missed an additional striker.
