The celebration began with Holy Mass in Plaza Alta, presided over by the episcopal vicar for Campo de Gibraltar, Juan José Marina Janeiro, and concelebrated by the priests of the archpriestship, including archpriest Miguel Ángel Ventura Naranjo.
Following the Eucharist, the procession of the Custodia took place, this year including the float of Santa María del Saladillo. The usual route through the city center covered streets such as Rocha, Sevilla, and Alfonso XI, before returning to the main parish church, Iglesia Mayor de Nuestra Señora de la Palma.
Institutional representatives present included the first deputy mayor, Jacinto Muñoz Madrid, alongside other members of the municipal corporation, as well as representatives from the State Security Forces and Corps and military commanders.
The event also saw the participation of the president of the Local Council of Brotherhoods and Confraternities, Nicolás Fernández Arjona, reflecting the atmosphere of reverence and the confraternal and social tradition of Algeciras.
