La Línea de la Concepción hosted the official presentation of 104 new National Police officers joining the police stations in the Campo de Gibraltar. This new cohort, comprising 24 women and 80 men, will complete their on-the-job training to strengthen security in the area.
The deployment of officers includes the assignment of 50 officers to the La Línea de la Concepción police station, while the remaining 54 will join the Algeciras force. The institutional event was attended by various authorities, including the mayor of La Línea, Juan Franco; the provincial chief commissioner of Cádiz, Francisco Javier Vidal Delgado; and the commissioner of La Línea, María José Martínez, among other police commanders and local representatives.
During the welcome address, Mayor Juan Franco emphasized the importance of police work for citizen coexistence and praised the force's effectiveness and cooperation within the municipality. He also recalled the City Medal awarded to the National Police in 2018, recognizing their commitment to the residents of La Línea.
The mayor also referenced the new security landscape following the removal of the border fence with Gibraltar, highlighting the role of the national police force in ensuring a smooth and coordinated development of the city's upcoming fair.
