This initiative, organized by the local Town Council, seeks to transform local history and traditions into resources that generate economic activity, attract visitors, and offer new opportunities to the territory. Félix Romero, delegate for Economic Development, Promotion, and Employment of the provincial institution, emphasized the importance of supporting such events that allow small municipalities to leverage their heritage, cultural, and gastronomic resources.
San Sebastián de los Ballesteros maintains a strong identity linked to the Enlightenment project of the New Settlements of Sierra Morena and Andalusia, promoted during the reign of Charles III under the direction of Pablo de Olavide. Founded in 1768 with settlers from Central Europe, mainly of German origin, the municipality keeps this heritage alive in its customs and collective memory.
Key venues for the celebration will include the Molino del Rey (King's Mill), declared a Site of Cultural Interest, along with the Plaza del Fuero, La Tahona, and La Colonia street.
Among the new features for this edition is a theatrical performance by local residents, recreating episodes related to the arrival of Central European settlers and the founding of the town. La Carolina will participate as a guest municipality, reinforcing cooperation between towns established from the New Settlements project.
The program on Friday, October 23, will kick off with the community theater performance, children's activities, the official presentation and reception of La Carolina, an exhibition of typical German dances, and Oktoberfest-inspired music.
Saturday, October 24, will feature activities such as a traditional miller's breakfast, a German masterclass, craft workshops, demonstrations of artisan noodle making, a turkey and noodle show cooking, tastings of German bakery products, along with children's activities, contests, and musical performances.
Sunday will begin with a hike along the Ruta de los Alemanes (Route of the Germans), followed by a miller's breakfast, a theatrical guided tour of the municipality, a pottery workshop, German beer tasting, the Hotdog-Wettbewerb (Hotdog Competition), and various musical performances until the event's closing.
