The initiative aims to support the work of associative entities and encourage citizen participation in socio-cultural activities. According to Auxiliadora Moreno, head of Citizen Participation at the Council, the festival is part of an agreement to promote flamenco and expands the musical offerings of the peñas with copla, a genre that is "very much our own," while also providing opportunities for copla singers from the province.
This year, the festival will reach 27 municipalities and 33 peñas in the province and the capital, with performances open to the general public. Previous editions have seen significant attendance, exceeding 1,000 people in 2024 and 2025, which drives support for this initiative to promote new singing talents.
José Gregorio Ramírez, president of the Federation of Flamenco Peñas, thanked the Council for its support and highlighted the goal of attracting young people to the peñas to ensure new generations enjoy this activity. The event, which covers almost the entire province, is expected to generate similar anticipation to last year's.
The recitals will begin on October 2nd in Palma del Río and will continue in Montoro, Obejo, Espejo, La Carlota, Montilla, Córdoba capital, Priego, Villaharta, Adamuz, Fernán Núñez, Doña Mencía, Cañete de las Torres, La Rambla, Montemayor, Moriles, Baena, Belalcázar, Bujalance, Aguilar de la Frontera, Carcabuey, Belmez, La Guijarrosa, Albendín, Pozoblanco, Algallarín, and Peñarroya-Pueblonuevo.
